Agronomía at a glance
Agronomía is low houses and small buildings around the agronomy campus, with more trees and sky than most of the city and almost no through traffic. It covers 2.13 km² in the city's west, Comuna 15, with 32,505 residents at the 2022 census (INDEC reports Agronomía and Parque Chas jointly, so the count and the density cover both) — about 9,200 people per km², less dense than the median barrio (14,700).
People who want space and trees, with the Agronomía campus and the clubs for a weekend and no interest in nightlife.
Great calm, weaker restaurant density, and more bus-dependent than subte-led.

The places that define Agronomía · our read- ParkFacultad de Agronomía (UBA)
The campus is the barrio's park: open fields, old trees, a working farm, and the reason the sky feels bigger here.
- ClubClub Comunicaciones
The big social club — pools, courts, a football pitch — that does what a plaza does elsewhere.
- StreetAvenida San Martín
The shops and the buses; everything else in the barrio is a side street.

median barrio
The overall read is an even weighting of the 12 marks we have for this barrio — a starting point, not a verdict. Of our six lenses it ranks highest under “Car-free”. Cost value stands on the asking sale price per m², as no rent is quoted here. The tick is the median of the 48 barrios. Eight marks are computed from public data and four are our read; what goes into each is on how we score.
What it costs
average asking prices · Q2 2026The city statistics office had too few rental listings here to quote an average this quarter. Missing data does not tell us whether rents here are cheap or expensive.
To buy: about US$2,189 per m² for a used two-bedroom (+1% vs the city). Budget separately for expensas (building fees) and utilities. These used-apartment benchmarks are not furnished short-stay quotes or offers. Figures are averages of what landlords ask — IDECBA (city statistics office), from Argenprop listings; 2nd quarter 2026, provisional — converted at the Banco Central de la República Argentina (BCRA, Argentina’s central bank) retail seller rate, Q2 2026 average.
Reported robbery & theft
reported crimes · 2025Combined figures for Agronomía + Parque Chas: the census reports their population together, so crime and park totals are pooled too.
18.6 reported robberies and thefts per 1,000 residents — well below the city rate of 32.2.
227 robberies (with violence or threat) and 379 thefts were reported in Agronomía + Parque Chas in 2025, against 32,505 residents in private dwellings at the 2022 census. Reporting rates, visitors, population changes since the census and differences between blocks limit the comparison. These counts do not measure all crime or predict personal safety. A barrio is half the decision. The other half is the lease — the guarantee, the up-front cash, the contract terms — and that part we walk through with you.
